Snugfall

Cozy weather for your Windows desktop.

Snugfall turns your desktop into a rainy window, a quiet snowfall, drifting autumn leaves or a warm summer night of fireflies.

The weather falls across your desktop, above the taskbar, and treats your open windows like real surfaces. Rain splashes on their tops and drips from the corners. Snow, leaves and petals pile up on them, and if you give a window a shake, it all tumbles off.

You keep working the whole time: clicks and typing go straight through the weather to whatever is underneath.

What's inside

• Eight effects: Rain, Snow (snowflakes or soft orbs), Petals, Leaves, Fireflies, Embers, Stars and Confetti.
• Windows become surfaces: snow, leaves and petals settle on top of your windows and shake off.
• Stays out of your way: optional sounds, off by default. Three graphics levels, starting on light Eco mode.
• Tray icon: Play/Pause, sound, effects and Exit, always one click away.
• Private by design: no account, nothing sent anywhere. It only watches where your windows are, never what's in them or what you type.

How to install

1. Download the ZIP and unzip it anywhere, for example your Documents folder. No installer needed.
2. Open Snugfall.exe.
3. Windows may say "Windows protected your PC" because Snugfall is new and not yet code-signed. Click More info, then Run anyway. This only happens the first time.
4. Pick an effect and get cozy.

Requirements: Windows 10 (version 1903 or later) or Windows 11, 64-bit. Uses .NET Framework 4.8, which is already built into these versions.

Early release

I'm actively improving Snugfall, and early buyers help decide what comes next. One-time purchase, no subscription, no ads in the app.
